I don't know how sugar became the main meal of the holidays. How powdered this and sprinkled that and glazed whoozy and baked whatsy became the thing to wrap with a shiny bow and serve at the side table.
What I know is that sugar can be a mean little monster, and that it can take advantage of the kindness of holiday cheer.
You are SO much stronger than sugar would make you believe.
What it all comes down to is the glory of your body. Your body WANTS wholesomeness. Your body is WORTH true, feel-good fuel. Step up to the meany-weenie-junky foods, show them your fierce self-love, and then step away from them.
Your body is worth more than a store-bought cookie or tin of mass-produced, high fructose corn syruped ball of something made without a trace of love.
Your body deserves love, in all its true/fresh/ripe/real goodness.
When you've found yourself with spiraling irises, drifting into the "why-not-it's-the-holidays" trap of sticky, crunchy, sugar plum Haites, remember you have the ability to NOT consume it.
Start with your VERY NEXT CHOICE. Add a slice of lemon to a tall glass of water. Chop up all your veggies and toss them in a big bowl with raw nuts and fresh herbs. Stretch deeply in the living room. Draw a hot bath with a few drops of lavender oil.
Think wholesome. Think adoration. Think clean. And then, step into feeling amazing.
